Hi, I’m Sigurborg, and I’m from Iceland.
I have lived experience of mental health challenges, and that journey has led me to work as a peer supporter on and off since 2014. Before that, I worked as an occupational therapist with elderly people and individuals living with rheumatic conditions.
I’m currently involved in project work at Hlutverkasetur and serve as the secretary of the board at Geðhjálp.
My strongest values are being present for my family, enjoying the good times, and finding learning and growth through the more difficult ones. Nature is my anchor—whether it’s a short walk to the ocean or traveling around the country. I also enjoy art and crafts, and I’ve recently found my way back to singing in a choir.
I truly value connecting with new people and having deep, meaningful conversations where there’s always something new to discover.
